Itinerary

Fantastic location of the Obertauern slopes between 1740 and 2526 meters above sea level and the amazing climate conditions allow for plenty of snow and the earliest start of the skiing season in the area. Although it's known for the thickness of its snow cover and well-kept skiing trails, Obertauern has plenty to offer during the summer as well. The warmer period from June to the end of September offers numerous outdoor activities such as hiking, mountaineering, horseback riding, mountain biking or going down the slopes on a Mountain Skyver.

 

An interesting fact about the Obertauern ski resort is that is wasn't made out in an existing town; it was intentionally built, starting at 1942, to maximise the tourism potential of this exceptional mountainous location. It became world-famous in 1965 when Help!, a musical comedy featuring the Beatles, was premiered, since part of it was filmed in this ski resort. Ever since, Obertauern has been a favourite for all fans of winter activities and good fun from all over the world.
